It’s looking like the end of an era for actress and entrepreneur Jessica Alba. The mamá-of-three shared with fans that she would be stepping away from The Honest Company as its Chief Creative Officer.
Alba launched the brand in 2012 with a powerful mission — “to create safe, effective products for our families and yours.” This mission has resonated with many, making The Honest Company a household name.
While Alba is stepping away as CCO, she’s not leaving the company altogether
The New York Times bestselling author shares that she is stepping away with a “grateful heart.” Despite no longer acting as the company’s Chief Creative Officer, she will still “provide strategic advice” as a board member.
On The Honest Company’s website, Alba shares that the reason she created the brand was so that people didn’t “have to choose between what works and what’s good for” them.
“It is with a grateful heart that twelve years after founding The Honest Company, I am stepping down from my leadership role as Chief Creative Officer. However, I will continue to provide strategic advice through my role on the board,” she begins.
Alba continues, “While there would never have been an easy time to make this decision, I know we have a leadership team in place with Carla Vernón at the helm to advance our founding vision and strengthen Honest’s legacy as an industry change-maker.”
The Honest Company was a “true labor of love” for the Latina
“Building Honest has been a true labor of love. From the first concept book I pitched to my friends in Mommy and Me class, to ringing the bell at Nasdaq with my family by my side — this journey has been the ride of a lifetime, one that only existed in my wildest dreams,” she emphasizes.
Alba was thankful to the entire team that helped her create, build, and continually “fuel” the company. She shared her gratitude for their “unwavering commitment” and how they’ve allowed her to be her “best version.”
“To the entire Honest team, past and present, your unwavering commitment to our mission is the fuel that keeps us going. Everyone always says you’re only as good as the people you surround yourself with — thank you for allowing me to be the best version of myself,” she asserted.
She also thanked the “Honest families” who supported the brand throughout her time as Chief Creative Officer.
“And of course to our Honest families, I’m forever grateful. Reading your stories and testimonials, seeing pictures of your baby showers, monthly milestones, AM/PM routines, and everything in-between — please never stop sharing these moments with us. You are the reason we exist,” Alba adds.
She ends her message on an inspirational note.
Alba concludes, “Thank you for showing me that a girl with an unconventional path in business could help lead a movement for good.”
